Fall 2026: The Things We Inherit, Chapter 1: Nostalgia

The Things We Inherit

Visiting Grandma's house came with rules. Don't sit on that. Don't touch this. The good room is for company. Chapter 1 of The Things We Inherit starts right there, with the wallpaper, the floral couch, the good room, the garden, and all the things we weren't allowed to touch (it built character).

This launch grew into a bigger story than I planned, so it's arriving in three chapters. This first one is all about looking back, and every piece in it is made from my pressed flower designs.

Cottage Garden

My grandma gardened and pressed flowers, and I learned both from her. The Cottage Garden throw blanket is for the garden itself, and for the blooms that ended up pressed between the pages of a book.

Parrots in the Parlour

Did you also have a great-aunt who loved bold wallpaper, with parrots in the powder room? The Parrots in the Parlour throw blanket is inspired by exactly that kind of wallpaper, and it's full of colour and not afraid of a pattern. Bright parrots sit among pressed tropical florals in shades of orange, red and peach, with lush greens popping against a deep navy background.

I designed this one with a certain generation in mind: the people who wallpapered entire rooms, added a floral couch, and somehow made the whole thing work.

Just for Company

Made for the good room, obviously. Just for Company is inspired by the dainty floral wallpaper and famously floral furniture found in so many of our grandparents' homes, and it brings back the rooms, patterns and treasures we grew up knowing we weren't supposed to touch.

Tiny pressed florals, including rust-coloured ranunculus, blue columbines, forget-me-nots, larkspur and yellow cosmos, repeat across a warm cream background in a delicate, vintage-inspired grid. Cozy up with it every day, save it for guests, or keep it perfectly folded in the good room. We won't tell Grandma.

All three designs live in our throw blankets collection.

The Everything Wrap

Gifts used to come with a little more ceremony. Careful folds, saved paper, a soft scarf tied just so. The wrapping was part of the moment.

The Everything Wrap brings that feeling back. This season, use it instead of wrapping paper, then keep it. Tie it in your hair, wear it as a scarf or bandana, or knot it around a bag handle.

Unlike the pile of paper on the floor, this part is meant to be kept.

It comes in four pressed floral prints: Verona, Meadow Bloom, Botanical Harmony and Cottage Garden. Each wrap is 22 x 22 inches and made from faux silk.

Maybe nostalgia isn't really about wanting to go backwards. Maybe it's about recognizing the pieces worth bringing forward with us.

Chapter 2 follows in mid-November. Until then, you can shop the whole collection or see everything recent in New Arrivals.
